Answer (1 of 4): It sounds like your memory is close to full, or the device has lost its memory of where to write the file after you download it. Go to your settings and tap on storage. If your storage is close to full, move or delete files as needed to free memory. If memory is not the problem. OneDrive won't download a file to my Windows 10 PC. OneDrive has been downloading an entire file and working as it should then all of sudden it stopped downloading the entire file. I don't know what else to try. The download problem is a problem on all of my computers and the problems started on all the computers at the same time. downloads won't open from the Download List: The Downloads Manager ("Ctrl+J") is more like a log of downloads, it does not verify that the download still exits. Make sure you are setup to download to a permanent location, not into temporary files that get cleaned by the browser or by CCCleaner or something designed to clear out temporary files.

First thing to note: The reason the file doesn’t open is that your computer lacks the software to open it. That’s a fact. If someone emailed you the file, email them back and explain that you cannot open the file. Your situation isn’t your own fault; the other person needs to send the file in the proper format. Check and preview the found Downloads folder. When the scanning process finishes, use Search to find the "Downloads" folder with lost files. Or, you can use the left pane and browse "Uses UserName" or "Other Lost Files Files Lost Original Name" to find files in the Downloads folder. Step 3.
